Always use a shaving aid as this helps the razor to move smoothly across the skin and limits irritations. The choice of product is important, try looking for men’s products that include aloe such as Facestuff’s ‘The Cleaner’ as this helps soothe the skin. Tip – Facestuff’s ‘The Cleaner’ can also double as a shaving aid, simply apply the gel facewash to a slightly damp face to create a smooth surface for a clean shave.
Exfoliate your skin. Over time dead skin cells build up, exfoliating them helps remove the dead top layer, keeping your skin looking fresh and healthy. We recommend exfoliating at least once a week, but more often if you feel like to you need to. Never use exfoliate near the eyes or mouth – the area around your eyes and mouth, the skin is thinner in these areas and tends to be more delicate. Tip - Try exfoliating before you shave – this removes the top layer of skin helping to make the shave easier and smoother and last longer.
Shaving too close to the skin causes ingrown hairs – try applying less pressure on the razor and avoid pulling the skin. ALWAYS shave with the grain and not against it!!
Avoid using aftershaves with alcohol as this can also cause burning or irritation.
